Why "Long Time Ago Farm"?
In 1994, we bought an
original 1829 log house in the scenic foothills of southeast Ohio. Yes, that is it pictured
above. It fulfilled a life-long dream to live in a real log cabin.
It also started what seems to be a life-long repair and renovation project!
Sometimes we think, 'what did we get ourselves
into!?' but when we come home
after a long, busy day to this cozy, peaceful place we know it has been worth
the effort. The name "Long Time Ago Farm" fits as it certainly was
established a long time ago. Read more at
About the Farm.
Who are Artisans?
We have met many interesting and
talented people who make beautiful things. Here we have provided a place
for you to purchase them.
Only those who provide good customer service and have high-quality
goods are invited to be on this site.
An artisan is "one who practices a trade or
handicraft, creating with skill or dexterity something in limited quantities
often using traditional methods." That definition perfectly describes what
these people do. Every item you find on this site is handmade by someone
who take pride in his work. Take time to 'meet'
The Artisans
and browse
Their Wares. Of course, we hope you will make a purchase; you
will not be disappointed.
We've also put together
Our Favorite Links, a
list of the artisans' favorite web sites; and
Things to Do
when visiting the southeast Ohio area.
Please add this site to your Favorites (Bookmarks) and visit often as we
are always making changes.

Dinky Donkey Doo!
Don't use just
any ol' horse manure to prepare your gardens and flower beds - use Dinky Donkey Doo!
Horse apples are big and bulky; they lose their shape as they tend
to splatt when hitting the ground. Not so with Dinky Donkey Doo.
It's the most adorable poop you've ever seen.
If you will be in
the area and would like a load of Dinky Donkey Doo,
Contact Us. Probably you will get a chance to
see how it's made since our loveable
Little Long Ears - four miniature
donkeys - pump out the stuff daily. We have an unending supply and
are happy to share the wealth... it's FREE!
